How VoteGuard Africa Works

From polling unit evidence to controlled national oversight.

VoteGuard Africa gives every election result a clear, accountable path. Authorized field teams submit the record, coordinators review it in sequence, and every important decision remains tied to evidence, jurisdiction, and an audit trail.

The Verification Journey

One result. Five controlled stages. No silent shortcuts.

The workflow is designed to keep authority close to the correct jurisdiction while giving command teams the visibility required to respond when something needs attention.

01

Capture and geotag at the polling unit

Controlled progression

An authorized Polling Unit Agent submits the result and photographic evidence from an assigned location. VoteGuard Africa requires device location access and records the capture coordinates and timestamp with the upload.

Control: The agent is restricted to an assigned polling unit and cannot submit without sharing the capture location.

02

Review within the ward

Controlled progression

The Ward Coordinator checks the submitted figures, supporting evidence, and record details before accepting, rejecting, or returning the result for correction.

Control: A result cannot skip ward review or move outside its jurisdiction.

03

Advance through the approval chain

Controlled progression

Verified records progress from Ward to LGA, State, and National oversight. Each coordinator acts only after the previous stage has completed its review.

Control: Every stage is role-bound, sequential, and scope-limited.

04

Monitor incidents and exceptions

Controlled progression

Operational teams track incident reports, delayed reviews, escalations, evidence gaps, and other signals that may require command attention.

Control: Exceptions remain visible without granting uncontrolled approval power.

05

Preserve the audit record

Submissions, reviews, rejections, escalations, approvals, and controlled overrides remain traceable for institutional and post-election review.

Control: Critical decisions cannot happen silently.

Polling-Unit Geotagging

The upload location is cross-referenced with the polling unit it claims to represent.

A result image alone does not prove where it came from. VoteGuard Africa connects the registered polling-unit coordinates, the agent’s assigned jurisdiction, the live device location, and the capture time so reviewers can detect an upload made from a different location.

Transparency Control

VoteGuard Africa blocks a location-less result submission in the agent interface. When supplied coordinates do not reasonably match the registered polling unit, the platform records the discrepancy as an anti-fraud signal for visible review and escalation. A remote upload cannot quietly appear location-correct.

01

Registered polling-unit location

Each polling unit can be stored in VoteGuard Africa’s location registry with its official latitude and longitude.

02

Live capture location

At result upload, the agent’s device provides the current coordinates and VoteGuard Africa stores them with the submission timestamp.

03

Distance cross-reference

The platform calculates the distance between the upload location and the registered polling unit. A distance above 5 km creates a mismatch warning; above 20 km creates a stronger far-from-assigned-unit signal.

04

Risk review and escalation

Location signals contribute to the anti-fraud risk score. Suspicious uploads are exposed to coordinators for evidence review and can enter the escalation workflow instead of passing unnoticed.

Election Control Room

One command view for verification pressure, incidents, locations, and response.

VoteGuard Africa’s Situation Room is the operational control unit of the platform. It turns field submissions and incident activity into a live, jurisdiction-scoped picture for authorized election teams—from Ward and LGA coordination to State and National command.

Control Room 01

Operational overview

Shows active polling units, pending verifications, open incident reports, high-risk hotspots, flagged results, severe reports, and open or unassigned escalations.

Control Room 02

Live alert feed

Surfaces result submissions, incident reports, verification decisions, anomaly signals, and escalation activity with location and time context.

Control Room 03

Escalation queue

Authorized coordinators can see severity, ownership, jurisdiction, and status, then claim, assign, escalate, resolve, or dismiss cases through controlled actions.

Control Room 04

Geospatial heatmap boards

Maps result submissions, anomaly pressure, incident activity, and critical-report concentration back to geotagged polling units.

Control Room 05

Verification and risk charts

Displays verification throughput, pending and completed outcomes, incident-versus-result volume, alert recency, risk pressure, and escalation severity.

Control Room 06

Hotspots and accountability

Ranks result and report hotspots, shows escalations by responsible role, identifies top incident types, and keeps actions connected to the audit trail.

What Command Teams Can See

Total and active polling units
Pending result verification
Flagged and high-risk results
Open and high-severity reports

Live alerts with location context
Result and incident heatmaps
Verification status and throughput

Why This Builds Trust

Transparency means evidence, context, and responsibility remain connected.

A coordinator does not see only a total. The control room shows the workload behind it: where activity occurred, what was flagged, which role owns the next action, how severe the case is, and whether it was resolved. Public-safe result views remain separated from sensitive command controls, while authorized oversight stays detailed and accountable.

Role-Based Experience

Every user sees the tools required for their responsibility.

VoteGuard Africa separates monitoring, submission, review, and administration so access to information never automatically becomes authority to change it.

Observer

Views public-safe monitoring and verified result information without approval controls.

Polling Unit Agent

Submits results and evidence only for an assigned polling unit.

Coordinator

Reviews records within an assigned Ward, LGA, State, or National jurisdiction.

Administrator

Manages governance and uses controlled intervention paths that require a reason and audit record.

Trust at Every Step

Verification is a governed process, not a single click.

These controls work together to protect the integrity of the record while keeping legitimate review moving through the election command structure.

Role-isolated access
Jurisdiction-based review
Evidence-linked submissions
Sequential approvals
Incident escalation
Audit-ready decisions
